When Karl Pedross started to farm apples 20 years ago, he laid the cornerstone of all the family’s subsequent farming activity. The Langstrein farm is still owned by the family and run by Inge Pedross and her son Christoph. They are very much supported by their manager Elmar Zagler who gained his agricultural knowledge at the Laimburg technical college for fruit production, viticulture and horticulture in South Tyrol. The Langstreinhof has already produced organic apples for quite a few years by following the strict principles of the Bioland association: no GM technology, chemical-synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Today, the Langstrein farm grows Red Delicious, Golden, Gala, Pinova and Kanzi organically. Inge places great importance on an organic diet and this is why it has been clear to her right from the beginning that she would like to grow her apples organically. She took the plunge in 2007 and is happy that she did it. Because her apples are healthy and natural products.

The classic delicious
Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.
