The main village of the Val Venosta almost feels like a small town, and is home to Karl Reinstadler. He lives here with his family, centrally located between the cool Resia pass and the warm, southern atmosphere of Merano. Karl is especially proud of his farm's organic certification. He says that his orchards are perfect for organic fruit production. The high number of sunny days, which easily exceed 300 per year, colour the apples' cheeks red without requiring any special intervention. Low rainfall and cool mountain nights add another extra dimension and allow the apples to ripen extra slowly. This makes the taste more intense and the bite crisper. In addition to the EU regulations, Karl also follows those published by the Bioland Association. He renounces everything which is not natural; he only uses pure organic fertilizer and he takes extra care to work the soils gently. That is how he can be sure that his apples are healthy to the core. And completely natural.

The image of the Red Delicious is difficult to resist. Seeing red can be really nice. And the red flavour is even more beautiful!

Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.
