VI.P celebrates its 20th anniversary
On 09 October 1990, the following ten representatives of the cooperatives signed the notarial foundation deed no. 210.154 of VI.P: Eduard Tröger for ALPE Lasa, Jakob Rechenmacher for GEOS Silandro, Karl Weiss for MIVO Laces, Helmut Rechenmacher for NOG Naturno, Josef Telfser for OGK Castelbello, Josef Holner for ORTLER Laces, Raimund Prugger for OVEG Oris, Nobert Gasser for the cooperative of PLAUS, Franz Kuen for POG Parcines and Josef Alber for UVO Ciardes.
The new association was called „Verband der Vinschgauer Produzenten für Obst und Gemüse - VI.P Gen.m.b.H.“ (Val Venosta Cooperatives Association) and its activity was based on cooperative principles without any view to profit.
In 2010, VI.P celebrates its 20th anniversary and can look back to eventful times. The harvest of fruit and vegetables in Val Venosta equalled 159,000 tons in 1990 and 372,000 tons in 2009. VI.P consisted of 10 member cooperatives at its foundation in 1990, while it unites 7 member cooperatives today.
VI.P constantly and consequently adapted to market developments during the last 20 years and is today known as a flexible and tightly run producer organisation which represents the interests of about 1,800 family businesses. The history of the association has been characterized by many changes, innovations and reforms, which could also be among the reasons why VI.P is prepared and ready to face the challenges of today’s markets.
