Morgenduft
Origin: This variety was discovered as a mutation of Rome Beauty in Ohio (USA) in 1816.
Fruit: The background colour is green-yellow, but most of the fruit is covered with a bright red colour. Morgenduft is a roundish and slightly prolate medium-sized apple with a white, crisp and juicy flesh.
Taste: Fresh and sweet-tart flavour.
Ripening: Mid-October
Marketing season: November to May
Recommendation: Ideal for the preparation of desserts, fruit salads, apple strudels, cakes and compote.
