Arrival of spring

The apple trees in blossom announce the arrival of spring. This extraordinary natural spectacle takes place from mid-April to the beginning of May when Val Venosta becomes a sea of white and pink flowers that color the valley and spread a fresh and delicate scent. Cloudless sky, crystal-clear air, the typical mountain huts and the snow-cowered Ortler peak in the background: Val Venosta’s already enchanting landscape is even more beautiful and fascinating when spring announces itself.

Bees do the rest

The cold season is over, the temperatures are slowly getting milder and the long awaited spring in Val Venosta begins. Attracted by the warm and dry climate the bees return and swarm out to pollinate the apple blossoms. They love life in the orchards and this is why many farmers have beehives. Bees are welcome in our valley as they are indispensable for the pollination of our apple tree and the whole ecosystem.

Guided visits in the realm of apples

To discover the awakening of nature with all its beautiful colors in this unique valley we suggest you to visit Val Venosta’s villages one after the other and to participate in some of the numerous organized initiatives. Among the main offers regarding the world of apples are itineraries through apple orchards or guided visits of apple orchards and member cooperatives of VI.P (Val Venosta Cooperatives Association) to discover the crunchiness and quality that distinguish Val Venosta Apples. These guided visits are organized by Val Venosta’s tourist associations and cooperatives. Participants can walk through apple orchards with apple experts who will answer all their questions. If you would like to participate in a tour, you just have to register at the tourist associations or cooperatives no later than one day before the guided visit.
