“BioFach is a very important trade fair for us,” explains Gerhard Eberhöfer, sales manager Bio Val Venosta, “as it takes place in a crucial moment of the campaign when we have the chance to present ourselves to our clients with a few advantages over our competitors due to some favorable factors. In this way, we can again underline our position as one of the market leaders for the production of organic apples in both Italy and Europe.”
The good harvest of last autumn, the excellent product quality of the apples in our storage cells and the good product availability for the next months are the factors that will ensure Bio Val Venosta a further positive development of the season.
Due to very dynamic sales during the first months of the current season the stocks for organic apples in Europe are about 30% lower than last year’s. Thanks to a good harvest, which is mainly due to the increase in organic production areas, “Bio Val Venosta will be able to serve both the Italian market and the most important foreign clients for 12 months with an exceptional product of excellent quality,” confirms Eberhöfer. “Golden will be available until September, our red and bicolored varieties until the summer months. In Nuremberg, we will also have the chance to present our Bonita apples that are now also part of our organic assortment. An interesting product availability of some 700-800 tons will allow us to be present on the market for about 2 months.”
“Sustainability, service and quality are the three key words of VIP’s strategic plan for the next years and the values which Bio Val Venosta bases its leadership on. These values are best expressed in the new cooperative for organic products only at JUVAL in Castelbello,” explains Eberhöfer. “It offers us enormous advantages in terms of fast response to market requirements, flexibility and modern processing capacity and is born from VIP’s wish to be a real first class apple partner offering the best possible product to clients and consumers.” Thanks to 12 processing lines, a sorting capacity of 60 bins/hour, a packing capacity of 28 tons/hour and a high-rack storage with a storing capacity of 18,000 bins JUVAL is the most modern plant in Europe for the processing of organic apples. During the last months we got very positive feedback for the Blitz foodtainer, a 100% plastic-free mono-material packaging made of cardboard.” Val Venosta Apples reaffirm their commitment to protecting the environment and offering highest quality with the choice and use of eco-friendly packaging as well.
“To prove the essential interplay between people and nature we will further develop the BioGraphy project,” concludes Eberhöfer, “and will again enrich it with new organic producers and contents. How does it work? All our organic apples have a personalized label with the name of the apple producer on the packaging. If you then go to
biography.vip.coop and insert the producer’s name you can learn everything about the producer who has cultivated the apples that you have just bought.”
