Pölten farm is miles from any other orchards, and surrounded by forest and meadows, in San Leonardo in the Passiria valley. Georg Tschöll runs it along with his son. When Georg took it over, he switched from livestock to fruit growing. At the beginning, the motivation was that apple production is more flexible and allows farmers to take a second job. Georg is supported in everything by his family. He only needs to bring in outside help during harvest time. Georg's favourite activity is driving through the orchards on his tractor to check on the fruit and observe the beneficial fauna. He grows Gala, Golden Delicious, Braeburn, Topaz, Pinova and Fuji on his orchards. Since 2000, he has been growing organic-certified fruit. He says that the apples are just tastier and crisper. That's why Georg is perfectly happy to take on the extra work which organic farming brings.

The Val Venosta resistant
The Pinova with its red vermilion-red skin is a typical apple of Val Venosta. Not only is it colourful, it also has a very balanced flavour. Thanks to its long durability, it offers you unlimited fruit enjoyment until the summer season.
