Alfred Karner lives with his family in Prad, near to the Stelvio Pass, and his land is run by a business manager. Markus Puintner already decided to go organic ten years ago. These days all his relations lend him a hand. He would not be able to cope otherwise as Markus is a very busy man. He runs a business, farms his own small estate, cooks for the two holiday apartments in the child-friendly organic farmstay, and does metalwork and teaches at the Silandro technical college for metalworking. After converting his business to the organic way, Markus continued his education with courses in organic agriculture. "Organics are the best method available to allow us to live and work together with nature." He is particularly proud of his apples. "They are real food for life. They have only natural input and it is the work of my own two hands, together with Val Venosta's natural world, which makes them grow."
Where I live
The image of the Red Delicious is difficult to resist. Seeing red can be really nice. And the red flavour is even more beautiful!

The classic delicious
Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.
