The Villhof farm in the centre of Silandro has been in the Vill family for centuries. Even today there is a family member responsible for each individual part of it. The young farmer Kajetan is responsible for organic apple production. Three years of agricultural college in Rotholz plus fruit farming training in Weinsberg have given him the best possible preparation for it, along with a profound understanding of nature. Now Kajetan has a wide range to offer nature lovers. He grows Gala, Topaz, Jonagold, Red Delicious, Braeburn and Golden Delicious and he makes organic apple juice for sale in the farm shop. Guests can enjoy the farm from close quarters both at the family-owned organic riding stables and in the organic country hotel. At the table, only the best organic products from kitchen and cellar are served and tours of the business illustrate its closed-cycle system. And the Vills really know what they are talking about. After all, in 1985 they were one of the pioneer families in the Val Venosta when they converted to organics.

Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.
