My story
Herbert Linser, landowner in Vezzano, has entrusted his small orchards to the expert hands of Florian Schuster.
Florian runs the Kellerhäusl farm in the village. It has been in the family for generations and Florian is pleased to be able to follow in the footsteps of his ancestors. He has added to the land belonging to the farm by renting other plots, some of which are several kilometres away. Making wine is Florian's hobby, but his main talents are in apple growing. The fact that he runs several local businesses is recognition of this. Florian sees the sloping terrain of the Monte Sole and their protected, sun-drenched topography as the main factor behind the high quality of his apples. That, and the fact that he has been organic for over 10 years in growing his Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Gala, Braeburn and Pinova. The main reason for switching to organic was personal, says Florian. It just means that he is able to grow them with so much more joy.
