My story

Jakob Pedross prefers spending his leisure time in the nature. But his two workplaces are outdoor in the nature as well: His main job is in alpine sports, whereas he dedicates himself to the cultivation of apples and vegetablesas a side job. It’s the ideal way to live his love for nature and to combine it with his working and private lives. Jakobgrew up with agriculture around Silandro, Val Venosta’s main place. When he got the possibility to lease a field from his parents, it was clear to him that he wanted to cultivate it organically. He aims at producing healthy fruit and vegetables of a high quality with the help of gentle and naturalcultivation methods. „Protecting and preserving nature is close to my heart. Furthermore, I would not only like to produce healthy food for myself but also for other people,” says Jakob. His agricultural areas should also be a habitat for useful insects.Jakob’s agricultural business is too small to be his main source of income but it’s nevertheless very work-intensive. His family help him and they together grow different fruit and vegetable varietiesfor their own use. Different fruit trees, a large vegetable garden, a potato field,a cornfield and numerousberry bushes – Jakobprefers variety. He grows apples of his favorite variety: Gala, a sweet and juicy apple variety that is harvested in early autumn as one of the first varieties. Jakobespecially looks forward to the harvesting period: A self-picked apple from the own tree that you take care for all around the year simply tastes unique!

Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.

The Val Venosta resistant
The Pinova with its red vermilion-red skin is a typical apple of Val Venosta. Not only is it colourful, it also has a very balanced flavour. Thanks to its long durability, it offers you unlimited fruit enjoyment until the summer season.
