Fruit growing runs in the family. Patrik inherited it from his great-grandfather who started in 1890 and was one of the very first to do so in the whole of the Val Venosta.
Nowadays, his wife and father Sepp also work hard in the family business to ensure that Pinova, Gala, Golden Delicious, Topaz, Red Delicious, Braeburn, Jonagold and Idared varieties all ripen together in the warm sunshine.
Patrik gained his knowledge about organic varietal nurturing at the South Tyrol technical college for fruit production, viticulture and horticulture. His view today is that: "In 1993, my father Sepp made the right decision to move to organic farming". Careful attention to health issues and environmental sustainability underpins everything. And this will continue: "My apple orchards must go on being a natural place to work."
