The Hauser estate is slightly outside the village of Sluderno, and the natural environment here is especially worthy of protection. Andreas Hauser's farm is directly adjacent to the Ontaneto di Sluderno, a Natura 2000 Biotope conservation area. The family has been taking care of the land for three generations. They feel especially responsible for their own surroundings and for that of their guests who spend their holidays on the estate. When Andreas learnt about organic farming on a continuing education course in 1996, full conversion of the farm was the logical next step for him. He harvests Jonagold, Pinova, Topaz and Idared from his strictly naturally managed apple orchards. He also farms livestock, applying conditions which are appropriate to each animal. His mother and wife support Andreas in all he does. Working close to nature with a closed-cycle system has now become a life goal. For the whole family.
