Fruit: The apple has a dark-red overcolour. It is elongated, of medium size to large, and has five distinct beads in the core cavity.

Taste: The Stark Delicious is a crunchy, juicy, sweet apple with a typical aroma for its variety.

Ripening: Mid-September.

Marketing season: End of September until May.

Recommendation: Apart from a fresh apple, the Red Delicious is also ideal for fruit salads, desserts, strudels and cakes.
