Maria Luise Stark's Fallrohr farm is in Alliz on Val Venosta's Monte Sole Mountain, high above the marble-producing village of Lasa. Before Maria Luise took over the farm, she graduated from the agricultural college in Ora.
She manages most of the work alone, only in particularly labour-intensive times - when thinning by hand or harvesting - does she call on the help of professional hands. Golden Delicious, Pinova and Jonagold, as well as Gala and Bonita grow in her orchards.
In 2003, she converted her farm to organic farming. It was a logical step, because she was not quite convinced by other methods of cultivation. Today she is happy about the step. This way, it is possible to ripen healthy apples that fit perfectly into the sensitive nature on the Monte Sole Mountain.
