History of Bio

The year 1991 was the foundation year of Bioland Sudtirolo, while Bioland Sudtirolo S.r.l was founded in 1994. The foundation chairman of both organisations was Tinzl Josef from Lasa.

All organic apples from Val Venosta were commercialized by the Bioland cooperative until the Bio Val Venosta cooperative was founded in 1997 with Vill Erich as chairman and Steck Peter as managing director.

Due to this decision to autonomously commercialize organic products, the Val Venosta producers were excluded from the Bioland Sudtirolo association and therefore became members of either Gäa, Naturland or Demeter.

In 2000, the Bio Val Venosta cooperative was dissolved and VI.P Service was founded as a subsidiary company of the VI.P association. The managing director of VI.P Service was Robert Zampieri at the beginning; Gerhard Eberhöfer has held the appointment as managing director since 2001.

In 2000, the farmers simultaneously founded the "Bio Vinschgau" association with Leonhard Wellenzohn as chairman of the association.

The BIO packaging department was moved to Ciardes (Ex UVO) in 2002 and the organic farmers from Val Venosta returned to the Bioland association in 2005.

The BIO packaging department has been moved to Laces Zona Industriale, 7 (Ex ORTLER) in November 2008.
