Masks, Peelings...

Beautytipps with apples Val Venosta
  • Apple peeling
Ingredients: 1 apple (recommended variety: Braeburn or Winesap)
Divide the apple into two (for body peeling) or four (for face peeling) and make sure you get smooth cuts. Apply in circular movements and with light pressure to the clean and still wet face or body. The acid and sugar contents are responsible for a fine and smooth skin, whereas pectin moisturizes the skin. As the peeling isn’t sticky, you don’t have to wash it off.
  • Apple-oat mask
Ingredients: 1 tsp. honey, 1 tbsp. rolled oats, 1 apple (recommended variety: Red Delicious)
Soak oat for a few minutes and grate the apple with the skin (as most nutritional substances are directly under the skin). Then mix oat and apples with honey, apply and wash off with lukewarm water after 30 minutes. This mask is ideal in case of pale and malnourished skin.
  • Apple oil
Ingredients: 200 ml grape seed oil, 1 sweet apple (recommended variety: Fuji)
Cut the apple and put it into the grape seed oil. Steep for one or two days until the oil becomes reddish, but no longer than 48 hours as apples are easily perishable. The oil absorbs the apples’ active agents and can be used as body oil, massage oil or bath oil.  The sweet Fuji has a particularly high hyaluronan level for a healthy and chubby skin after the care.
  • Apple balm
50ml apple oil (for preparation see above), 10g beeswax (yellow or white, available in the pharmacy), a few drops of apple essence or rose essence (also available in the pharmacy)
Warm the beeswax and add apple oil when fluid. When having a homogeneous mixture add a few drops of apple essence or rose essence, mix, fill the cream into a cream jar and let cool. The cream is ideal for rough lips and as a healing ointment. It can be kept for about half a year at room temperature.
  • Apple-lemon lotion
Ingredients: 1 acidulous apple (recommended variety: Granny Smith or Pink Lady), 2 tbsp. lemon juice, 50 ml orange flower water
Grate the apple with the skin and strain, add lemon juice and orange flower water. The lotion can be kept in a cool place for about three weeks. It is recommended in case of blemished complexion and age marks as it naturally brightens up the skin when applied repeatedly.
  • Wrinkle mask
Ingredients: 1 egg yolk, 1\2 apple
Mash one half of an apple without the skin and mix with the egg yolk. Apply the mask on the face and let work in for 20 minutes.
  • Apple – cream mask (for dry skin)
Ingredients: 10g linseeds, ½ egg yolk, 15g whipped cream, 1 tsp. grated apple
Soak linseeds in warm water and then mix with a half egg yolk, whipped cream and grated apple.
Apply the mask on clean face and wash off with water after 15 minutes.
  • Acidulous apple mask (for greasy skin)
Ingredients: 1 acidulous apple, 1 tsp. honey
Grate an acidulous apple and mix with a teaspoon of honey.
Clean the face, apply the mask to the face (easiest when lying) and wash off with water after 25 minutes.
